An opener treatment for Fortune Magazine's 20 Great Ideas for the 2020s feature · a piece on the ideas the magazine's editors expected to define the decade ahead.
The brief came directly from an Another Poster piece · the AD referenced a stacked-layer typographic composition and asked for a treatment in the same register, adapted to work across three editions (Newstand, Subscriber, and International) as a single unified piece.
The challenge was legibility. Repeating numbers as pattern needed to remain readable as content. The final treatment stacks the digits of 2020 as dimensional layers, with the "20's" emerging as the fixed reading point. Flat colour behind, high-contrast typography in front.
